§ 8-4-15. Video gaming terminal.

    Definition . As defined in 230 ILCS 40/5, "any electronic video game machine that, upon insertion of cash, is available to play or simulate the play of a video game, including but not limited to video poker, line up, and blackjack, as authorized by the Board utilizing a video display and microprocessors in which the player may receive free games or credits that can be redeemed for cash. The term does not include a machine that directly dispenses coins, cash, or tokens or is for amusement purposes only."

    B.

    License Required . No person, firm or corporation shall offer for play any Video Gaming Terminal in the Village of Hoffman Estates without having first obtained from the Village of Hoffman Estates the proper license for each Video Gaming Terminal. Applications for such Video Gaming Terminal licenses shall be made in writing to the Village Clerk and shall state thereon the location of the place of business and the total number of Video Gaming Terminals intended to be used, and further provide a copy of any current license or licenses issued to Applicant by the State of Illinois under the Video Gaming Act, 230 ILCS 40 (2009).

    C.

    Revocation. Any Video Gaming Terminal license may be revoked by the President at any time during the life of such license for any violation of any of the provisions of this Municipal Code, or any applicable laws, rules or regulations of the State of Illinois relating to the Video Gaming Act, 230 ILCS 40 (2009) and such revocation may be in addition to any fine imposed.
