§ 4-5-8. Requirements for police officers.

All new applicants to the Police Department, without exception, shall: 1) have a bachelor's degree from an institution of higher education certified by a regional or national accreditation agency as a prerequisite for employment; 2) be over 21 years of age and less than 35 years of age; 3) have vision minimum corrected to 20-20 with no color blindness; 4) be a United States citizen; 5) have a valid driver's license; and 6) understand the written and spoken English language.
