§ 11-8-1. Inspection duties.

  • A.

    The Director of Code Enforcement shall make all necessary inspections, or he may, with the approval of the Village Manager, accept reports of such inspections by authoritative and recognized services or individuals; such reports shall be in writing and certified by a responsible officer of such service or by the individual. The Director of Code Enforcement may, with the approval of the Village Manager engage expert opinion to report on unusual technical situations that may arise. The Director of Code Enforcement shall inspect building materials or assemblies as required.

    B.

    Inspections shall be made for all temporary structures or devices (i.e., carnival devices, temporary bleachers, tents, etc.) prior to being utilized by the public.

    C.

    Inspections shall be made of all buildings damaged by wind, fire or other causes and may require a new Certificate of Occupancy as determined by the Director of Code Enforcement.

    D.

    In the discharge of his duties, the Director of Code Enforcement shall have the authority to enter at any reasonable hour, any building, structure or premises in the municipality to enforce any provisions of this Chapter.
