§ 11-5-3. Insurance.

A.

Comprehensive general liability insurance for one person in the sum of $100,000.00 per occurrence and a minimum aggregate of $300,000.00. All contractors performing underground work must provide proof of underground (XCU) liability insurance and automobile coverage as listed below.

1.

Coverage limits for vehicles rated at a GVW of one ton or less:

a.

$250,000.00 per individual/$500,000.00 per accident/$250,000.00 property damage limits of personal automobile coverage; or

b.

$500,000.00 combined single limit of commercial automobile coverage.

2.

Coverage limits for vehicles rated at greater than one ton GVW require $1,000,000.00 combined single limit of commercial automobile coverage.

B.

If applicable, worker's compensation (per Illinois statutory limits).

C.

Coverage of subcontractors, if any used, in the amounts stated above.

D.

Provisions that the above insurance policies shall not be cancelled without first giving ten days written notice to the Director of Code Enforcement.
